Venezuelan wife asked to renew passport

Update. Her 2 year extension finally came through and as of last week she received her approval for her PR visa. Took required pictures etc to the office in Santiago and everything will be sent to Argentina for final processing. Now we just wait to see the window of time she needs to enter Canada. All is good! Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

Why is your application going Santiago and Argentina? Isn't it suppose to go Mexico?

She is living in Santiago and has resident status there. The original application was done through Mexico but this final step can go to Argentina because of her Chilean status.

Hi! Your wife has a long time living here in Santiago? What type of Chilean residence does she have, temporary or definitive?
I'm asking you because I am also a Venezuelan living in Santiago with a temporary visa, we already have 10 months in the sponsorship process and
I probably have to do what your wife did.
