We need accommodation for 10 days in Vancouver , any guidance

it's been asked many times on this forum but I'd still like to confirm if Indian bank statement is accepted as Proof of funds. I know some of you might suggest it to be in CAD but we can use debit cards issued by Bank to withdraw money in Canada. People who have landed pls post your views on this as Travellers cheque would lead to Forex fluctuations and other charges. I'm planning on taking a Balance certificate fromy my Bank with Balance shown in CAD on bank letterhead.

Bank statements and/or Bank balance certificate are accepted as POF. I have recently landed and shown half amount in Indian bank (SBI bank balance certificate) and half I carried in Cash. I was also facing this issue and was getting mixed responses. However, after gaining more information from the candidates who landed before me, i proceeded and didn't face any issue. Make sure that you carry at least 50-60 pc of the required POF in cash/travellers cheque/preloaded debit cards/Demand drafts etc and the remaining you can show in your account.. Showing full POF in bank might be highly risky. Good luck..

If you are low in budget (don't afford to stay in hotels), then you might find some in airbnb.ca, but look for accommodation in Richmond which is a safer bet than Vancouver if you are staying only for 10 days.

uptill now dont know but have a plan Inshallah after completion of application process. Are you from Lahore, in which profession you are and when you are moving to Vancouver and from which route and air line you are using.

I am an engineer, working in Lahore. Planning to move in June Inshallah. Still not decided regarding flights. But I think American Airline is better option from Lahore to Abu Dhabi, Abu DHabi to LA, USA and from LA to Vancouver. Total flight duration + transits = 18 hours & 30 minutes from Pakistan. By the way dear you are a medical Doctor or Phd Doctor.

But I think American Airline is better option from Lahore to Abu Dhabi, Abu DHabi to LA, USA and from LA to Vancouver. Total flight duration + transits = 18 hours & 30 minutes from Pakistan. This will be checked at Abu Dhabi airport at pre-clearance counter for US visitors. Even you wont come out of airport, visa still require.

I am planning to move to Vancouver next month and I am a bit confused on what documents I will need to get a BC driver's license.

I have a current West Australian license which was issued in 2011 and expires in January 2016. Can you please guide me on how I can swap it for a BC one? I know BC has a reciprocal license policy with Australia

The icbc website says I need a license abstract, which is not provided by West Australian Transport. Will my license and PP/COPR be sufficient for a new BC license.

You probably figured it out yourself.. Australia and BC can exchange licenses without any test..

Kindly share any other popular route from Lahore to Vancouver where there is no visa requirement. I explore another route LHR-London-VCR but still dont know whether transit visa is required for London or not. Kindly share other possible options.
