Hi Seniors,
My daughter (3 year old) came here on visitor visa (born in US) here, we are PR holders, she is with us here for five months, my question is how long she can stay here? Her PR application is in process and it takes more than one year to get, could anyone give advise on this, should i need to extend her visa, if so how can i do it from here? should i need to take her to the border and enter again to get another six months. Please guide me which is the best option to do?

Thanks in advance!!

She can stay for six months. I would extend her visit online (from within Canada) rather than driving to the border.

Yes. Make an application to extend her visitor's visa online. I just finished doing it for my wife who is here with me awaiting the processing of her PR application. Once you submit the application to extend her visitor's visa, she has "implied status" which means she can stay until a decision on the visa extension application is made. No need to go to the border or leave the country.

Do you mind giving me the website link to extend her visa online? I am trying to do it by online only rather than going to the border?

Hello Seniors,

I tried to submit the visa extension application online and it asks for a UCI number, is it the PR number of the parents. The application instruction says :

The UCI or Client ID can be found on your study or work permit under the section “Country of Citizenship”

Kindly let us know what is UCI number to complete the application if anyone have recently filled the application.
