I and my wife came from USA to Canada in 2019 to seek asylum but then i already overstayed for 8month instead of 6month in the state. Fast forward am currently a PR holder here in Canada and have recently gotten a date of interview appointment at the U.S embassy.
My question is will there be issues during interview based on previous overstay in the U.S?
Anyone with similar issues or experiences?
Thanks

Yes, they will ask but answer truthfully. In my case, I overstayed less than 6 months. I answered truthfully but focused on the part that I will never repeat and will be more careful in the future.

Yes you can get a US visa on your RTD, if you dont already have a US visa in another passport last I checked getting an appointment for a US visa is what takes time- and it was 2 years wait for an appointment
