Hi Guys,
I'm a Canadian PR, my husband is US Citizen. We sent our outland FS application in April, but it's moving very slowly (to this day we haven't even received a request for medicals).
The company he is currently working for has a branch in Canada and they are offering him a transfer. They can also help him to get a work visa.
Question - is it okay that his employer applies for a work visa for him while we have an outland PR application in process? I know that a work permit option is only available for inland applications, not sure how outland applications correspond with transfer work TRV.
Thanks!
I have a question regarding Education History section of the Schedule A form.
For Field of Study for high school education should I write "N/A" or "general" Which is a better answer? What did you guys write?

Write Secondary.
Hi Classic Chucks,
But wouldn't secondary by the answer for "Level of Education" and not "Field of study"?

You need to write secondary, and give complete information for where you went to high school. You list high school first, and then list B.A. second, etc. I didn't fill in secondary (I have a Ph.D. so didn't bother), and they sent it back to me. Fortunately, the person I got on the phone told me about the order, otherwise I wouldn't have done it in the right order, and they probably would have sent it back again.
This is helpful, thank you!

I've seen as late as six weeks.
No idea though.

I have waited six weeks. Is it common for Ottawa to not update gckey?

Our account updated when the background check started, but everything else stayed the same until the CoPR was sent. There are some other folks here who have been waiting on the background check and wondering it it's already started and just hasn't been updated on their accounts.

Thanks for the reply. I am not really worried about it. It will happen when it happens. I'm just curious when it should start. I thought it should have updated by now
You sent medicals before they asked for it?
Doctors now should normally only do the check up when CIC ask for it as you're supposed to bring the request document with you
I've heard some Doctors still do it before but I don't see the point as it only brings your COPR expiration date earlier (could potentially be an issue in case you don't want to or cannot move immediately)
