Just sent our package out today via Purolator, just making the 5pm deadline. It should be at CPC-Mississauga by Monday, July 9 at 10:30am -- all 7 lbs of it! I am the sponsor and the principal applicant is my American husband, so for the 2nd stage I think it's going to CPC-Ottawa now that Buffalo is closed?
Good luck to everyone! And congrats to those that are getting their PPRs!

Just wondering if there are any sponsors (outland) that have been asked to do FBI fingerprint checks? I only ask because I would hate to waste precious time if asked to do so. However, I also don't want to be paranoid and get one done in advance (my application has already been sent) just to have that possibility covered if for some reason they do ask for one?

It's very rare. Only if the sponsor has a background that might make him/her ineligible for sponsorship (e.g., violent crime - see eligibility criteria here)
I'm heading to Portugal tomorrow. I've instructed my husband to open my mail while I'm gone and bring my PR card to the airport when he picks me up on the 31st. Probably won't need it, but just in case.
don't worry - it's normal to get a bit overwhelmed! a few tips for you - AOR : acknowledgement of receipt, that's when CIC receives your application and sometimes sends an email, but not too often.
PPR - Passport request, when you are done with stage 1 (sponsor approval)
ecas - once you have an UCI ( unique client identifier), you can log in online and follow some of the progress on your file - only after being approved for stage 1 - so you have time to get used to all of that...
