No, mine is still in Mississauga because the applications have to go through there to process the sponsor. Only the in-process applications are in Ottawa, not those in stage one.

Yes you sent your application to mississauga but most Step 1's are coming out of Ottawa...

Yes almost everyone who is recently approved is getting the letter or e-mail from Ottawa Pilot

Ottawa has many functions - just because they possibly helped out CPC-M with step 1 doesn't mean they'll necessarily keep the application for step 2. No changes have been made (yet?) to the List of Countries and corresponding VO.

That being said, as I said above, in the long term, Canada seems to be centralizing more and more functions on Canadian soil ...

that's because more and more countries are plagued with security and safety issues not to mention the fraud that happens even in Canadian embassies . In the Canadian embassy in Lebanon I heard the local employees were collecting application fees and keeping them for themselves. Shameful how low some people can go.

So, folks, it looks like the media got one thing wrong in their sneak preview.

For permanent residents, CPP-O (Ottawa) is going to be processing applications going forward (existing, per the Bulletin I posted earlier, and future ones per the CIC List of Countries and Corresponding Canadian Visa Offices.

So, for new applicants that haven't sent their app yet: select CPP-O as your visa office (not Buffalo, not NYC).

And, now, we know.*

* The only question left is interviews (regional offices make sense, but no confirmation yet).

I won't care if it's like that and they give me a work permit. But I want to be able to work and go back and see my family. So lol But it's still an interesting thought.
