It took roughly 1.5 months for us to receive confirmation that we were received and in the system.

Mine changed the day we received sponsorship approval... well it could have been a day or 2 before we actually received the letter in the mail, but it usually doesn't change until you have received sponsorship approval.

I guess I thought ECas would be showing that we're in "Stage 1 Processing" or that they rec'd/processed our payments at least. It's like we don't exist yet and that makes me nervous. Even my UCI# from my Visitor Record can't locate me and that REALLY doesn't make sense to me, being's I've been here almost 5 months.

Your case won't show up under your UCI until the sponsorship approval, at which point they create your case in the computer.

We had the same experience as creampop - until we had the approval letter in-hand, nothing showed up on e-cas.

Alright then. I will give the freak out monster a chill-pill. :-\ I've been doing good at totally forgetting about the whole thing, but not being able to do my visitor extension online woke up that monster. GRRR! WHERE'S THE EASY BUTTON????!! Thanks for helping to put my mind at rest!

Hello! We received an email yesterday saying "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)...". But we still cannot check the status in the e-cas. Is it normal? Thanks!

Yes sometimes it takes alittle time to get into the system... we received our sponsorship approval by snail mail 3 days from the time they mailed it and we logged right in with the UCI being that your IO sent you an e-mail maybe they just hadn't had time to put it in the system yet... and oddly enough I have noticed that everytime I have a change in my E-cas its on a Tuesday but that could just be a coincidence.

After 6 mths and 3 weeks we are finally IN PROCESS as of October 14!!!! My hubby arrived home this morning and on the early drive home (7:41am to be exact) we received an email!!!! ;D

Yup!!! It shows that we are in process now

Yeah! May your process be quick (I went from in-process to PPR in 2 weeks time, so it CAN happen.)

Have you ordered case notes? If not, I'd suggest doing so, because it will at least tell you what they have (and have not) done on your file.

Though if you've been in process six months, you're one of the unfortunate ones who got caught in the Buffalo to Ottawa shuffle.
