So I've got a tricky situation that I haven't been able to find a clear answer for.
I'm a US Citizen with a PRC that expired in 2013. I have no interest in being an Canadian citizen, the reason I have a PRC is that my whole family applied and I was bundled in. I found good work in the Middle East and as of 2010 have never been back to Canada.
I've scheduled a flight in to Toronto to meet my family for 4 days in Toronto, and then I'll be taking a flight to the US. Any idea what will happen at the passports table? When the official opens up my US passport and sees my Canadian Immigration stamp, of course they will ask for my PRC. I don't have time to get a new American passport or to renew my PRC.
The question is, what do I do? Do I show them the expired PRC? Will they allow me into the country as a US citizen with an expired PRC? Will they send me to an immigration official in the airport?
Or should I just say that I left the PRC at home, and I'm coming as an American tourist?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
