Dear All,

I received PPR on 24th June and as per the document I have to submit my and my spouse Passport within 30 days to CPC Ottawa. I am staying in India and my wife is in USA. We are holding Indian Passport and it's not legal to mail/ courier Passport out side country. Also, I don't have anyone who is travelling to Canada who can carry my Passport. In the PPR they have mentioned that

If you or any of your family members are residing outside North America and you are unable to send your/their passport(s) to Canada and/or to provide a return mailing address in North America, contact us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca or by fax at 613-946-6059 so that we can make arrangements to print visas at another office.

So we sent mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca but didn't get any reply. Also we contacted local Visa Offices and CIC call Centre but didn't get any satisfactory response. Now we are running out of time.

Request anyone who can suggest us on this or have faced similar situation. I am afraid if I miss 30 days deadline then CIC may cancel our visa.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks Asivad for your reply.

I am more worried about what will happen if they reply too late and I miss the deadline. I saw a few people got reply after 25-30 days but earlier they used to give 60 days for submitting Passport. But I have only 2 weeks left out of 4 weeks :(

I completely understand your concerns with this delay.

Technically, this is CIC's problem and not yours even though it feels personal. Their systems aren't sorted yet to manage FSWP outland candidates who get a PPR hence everyone receives the generic PPR letter from CIC Ottawa which is probably processing all EE applications without any intervention from the LVO. Unfortunately, you are one of the guinea pigs of their EE experiment and no guinea pig in history ever had it easy, right.

Having said that, I'm sure the reply will be in the mail any day now. For Srbhrn, it took 11 days. In your case, I'm not sure how many days have elapsed since you sent them a mail but expect a positive response sooner than later.

And I don't think there are any grounds on which they will cancel your visa especially after you having sent them a mail requesting redirection of PPR formalities to NDVO.

Hang in there. All the best!

Hey Asivad...thanks again for your reply. One more doubt I have - Are you aware of any case where they have declined VO change request?

Very few applicants from outside Canada have reported PPRs and all of them have had this issue. Nearly all of them have reported that the issue is sorted and no one yet has reported a denial on this request.

Thanks for being so helpful Asivad :)

I'll wait for another couple of days and will drop 2nd reminder. Today I dropped the first reminder.

I hope soon they'll reply :(

Still waiting for the reply. I hope they will send it soon.
It has been 12 days since we sent the first mail and 2 days since we sent the second reminder.

Anyone else in the same situation?

HOPE THEY REPLY SOON TO ALL OF YOU GUYS BEFORE YOU REACH YOUR DEADLINE.... GOOD LUCK GUYS....

Guess you may have already done it, If not, a fax might help, Best of luck to you guys!

Guys... I received mail from CPC-CTD-Ottawa with Subject line - EXXXXXXXXX - Ready for Visa - New Delhi. But I didn't get any mail for my wife who is in USA. Will she get another email? Or as she is in USA, will CPC not change her VO?

Well, their mail does explicitly say North America...

Yes they mention that if you are residing outside North America then drop mail to change VO. But as we are holding Indian Passports, it is illegal to send it by courier outside residing country. This is why I asked them to change the VO to USA. But not sure whether they're going to change it or she would have to send her Passport by courier only
