I am currently in USA on h1b i94 valid but visa expired. and am planning to do land in Canada and isolate for 2 weeks at friends place. I wanted to know if using AVR to return back to USA through flight after 2 weeks is possible or not? Let me know your thoughts

Did anyone apply for extension of expiring CoPR using webform and was granted one? Also anyone who has done soft landing during covid? The IRCC website says soft landing is not allowed; but with winter approaching and difficulty in finding job, neither do I want to leave my current job nor let the CoPR expire. I am in a catch 22 situation. My CoPR expires in Jan '21 but I want to extend it till May '21 so we can travel during summer. Please help/guide. Thanks in advance
