Hey Guys,

Was seeking your advise on the following - I am short of 60 days in fulfilling my RO since I obtained my PR status in the 5 years duration:
1. When would be the ideal time to submit the renewal considering the post covid processing delays?
2. How would that have an impact on my stay in Canada? Ex: My current work, Medical, Loans, etc.
3. What happens if I need to travel once expired?

Awaiting your guidance and support.

1. Only after you are 100% sure you meet the residency obligation. Make sure you have at least a few buffer days in case you make any calculation errors.
2. No impact.
3. You will need a PRTD to return to Canada directly by plane (you'll want to make sure you meet RO when you apply for the PRTD). Alternatively, if you have a US visa, then you can fly to the US and re-enter Canada through a land border using a private vehicle.
