Hi All,
Please help me
I got request of FBI Clearance for my Spouse as she lived in US twice .
1 st trip 5 month and 28 days
2 nd Trip 5 month and 24 days
She was never continuous for more than 6 months
She was Non Accompanying member in my PR as she to her job commitments she was not able to come with me.
Now I have applied her through Spouse
Sponsorship and last time ie during PR
Process I gave the explanation to CIC
And they accepted and FBI was.waived.
Now again the same FBI request
Please let me know the place in Delhi and what is the best possible time it can be received ie processing time .And things to be taken care before.
Also, what about without help of Consulatant we can directly send the same
Why don't you ask the embassy or consulate of the U.S to India about how to get the police certificate? Also, note that it doesn't matter if it's continuously or not, your spouse has lived more than 6 months in another country, (more than 11 months, actually) therefore your spouse is being requested the police certificate. For example, two trips, one of three months and another of four would make it more than six, so a police certificate is needed. I understand there are private companies in the U.S who process the police certificate as well, and you can get them within a week, emailed to you and everything. You don't have to do it through the FBI, which takes several months anyways.

Your spouse can only use an FBI channeler if she is a US citizen or a green card holder. If she is neither then unfortunately it currently takes about 3 months to get your FBI clearance certificate after they receive your application. Considering that it needs to be mailed to India it will probably take longer than 3 months for you. If you have a close reliable family or friend in the US then you can put their address as the mailing address. Then once they receive your wife's FBI certificate then they can scan it as a pdf and email it to your wife. After all, your wife will be submitting it to CIC by uploading it on her GCKey anyways. At least this way you end up saying time compared to getting it mailed directly to India, especially since FBI only uses the postal system and not courier services like UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.
Like JulianaAndrew said you can try calling the US embassy and ask them if there are any places they recommend for fingerprinting for the FBI clearance certificate. That's really the only thing you need help with since you want to make sure they're done the right way so it doesn't get rejected by the FBI. If you know how to do it and are confident about it then you can do it yourself too on the standard fingerprint form which is available on the FBI website. Other than the fingerprints, you need to fill out the application form and have your $18 payment ready (only money order or credit card). Once everything is ready then send it via express courier service so that the FBI gets it in 3-4 days.

Yah it will take a few days more compared it mailing it to a US address, but having it mailed to Canada is still a better and faster option than mailing it to India.

Hello,
My husband also received same request for FBI clearance certificate. Could you please tell when and how did you inform NDVO that it will take longer than 30 days for you to submit the documents? Please share the pros and cons which you experienced during applying for FBI and which address did you provide for getting results. Thanks.
