Upon getting the PR visa, do I need to leave the country and re-enter?

Hi there,
I recently applied for PR through EE (March 20). As I anxiously keep checking my account for updates, I am planning on using my tourist visa to visit Canada in the summer, and given the processing times, that will be before my PR visa is issued.
My question is: If I am in Canada as a tourist at the time when my PR visa is ready, do I need to leave the country and re-enter using the PR visa? Or is there a procedure whereby I can change status without having to leave the country? Anyone happened to be in this situation?

One way to complete the landing formality is to visit a local IRCC office inside Canada.
