upfront medical exam

Hi all,

I'm currently in Canada as a visitor and I have submitted PR application within Canada without open work permit.

Now, I'm going to extend my visitor status for one more year as the PR processing time is one year. Is that correct? If so, do I need to get a upfront medical exam for the extension?

Why wouldn't you have submitted an OWP app?? That would have given you status for the duration of your PR processing time, so there would be no need to continually apply for visitor extensions.

I didn't know i should apply OWP to maintain my status in Canada.

Is that too late to do so right now? I submitted my PR application last month.
Is a upfront medical exam will be needed for OWP?

It's not too late. Submit OWP app now, and make sure to indicate it's part of your inside Canada PR application already submitted.

Wait until they ask you to do medical.

Is the medical exam result for the OWP will share with the PR? I didn't go exam yet because no upfront exam is required for PR.
I'm wondering if I will need to do two medical exams for those two applications? Because the medical exam fee is quite a lot for me.

And can I submit the OWP application online? Any specific docements are required?
Is the OWP means "work permit" + "open work permit holder"?
