But a new Checklist was published in CIC website for CEC program.
- Online payment has been removed (we already know by now).
- Add NOC number on your reference letter (if known)
- CIC now asking applicants to black out the SIN number from NOA/T4 slip, to secure tax information.
- An interesting change: CIC now accepts paystub/contract letter, if you don't have your T4/NOA. They prefer that you submit T4/NOA but if you don't have them, you can submit record of work or paystub.

Thanks for posting that. On the previous checklist, the pay slips / contracts were optional supporting documents. Here it clarifies - that you can submit these supporting documents in place of a T4/NOA (because of timing issues).
Paystubs / contracts are NOT a replacement for a Letter of Employment.
Since, there is no need to provide NOC Code on a reference letter, how they are gonna know applicants noc code?
Are they going to determine the Noc Code?
they never mentioned in the past to add noc code on reference letter. @ op, thnx for the info. very interesting. guess paystubs are now very useful piece

So quick question and opinion. I already received my reference letter from my past employer however it does not state my NOC code although I know it. This letter was written before they changed the from a few days ago. Do you think this would be an issue although I have included my NOC code on the schedule 8 form?
I am trying to send in my application before Friday and It will take two days via fed ex to receive a new reference letter.

hey Pixiebell, adding NOC code to your reference letter is NOT an absolute requirement.
However, CIC added this info recently, that means they would prefer your employer add the NOC on your letter.
If you can get another updated letter with NOC, that will be great.
If your employer is willing to change the letter, get a new letter.
But if you can't get a new letter, then it is OK.
CIC will accept letter without NOC.
