Hi, I have been admitted into Queen's for fall-2014 and what they are saying is they will only be able to send out the information regarding fee and registration by early or mid June. I am worried whether that will allow me sufficient time to apply and obtain a visa on time because without the fee payment receipt I cannot apply for a study permit. Please let me know how should I go about this.

Cheers!

1. You don't need to pay the fee before applying for a study permit, you need proof of funds to pay it, and living expenses and an acceptance letter.

Thanks man, I was just a little worried as they had mentioned it on vfs website.

yes, you definitely do not need to pay the tuition fee before applying for the study permit.
What you can do is attach the receipt of the deposit that you have paid. Many universities ask for the deposit i am not sure about Queens.

Thank you. If I decide not to go with the deposit and just show my available funds for tution + living expenses that would be sufficient right?

Paying the fee is just one of the ways you can present your financial case. Often, people provide bank statements, employment letters or business documentation from their sponsors to show their ability to pay. Regardless, you will need to submit a bank statement (as well as the source of those funds such as sponsor's job or business) because paying the tuition fee for one term isn't enough to show that you can sustain yourself throughout your entire stay in Canada.

Remember to follow the CIC instructions rather than what it says on the VFS/VAC site. CIC is the primary source whereas the VAC/VFS is a contracted party providing services.

It wouldn't hamper my chances of getting a visa right? because I have everything else ready with regards to showing funds, unconditional offer etc.
PS: I'm from India.
