I have received a new counterfoil on my GC account and it says application approved. I got an SMS at 9 am and then 2 hours later the counterfoil update happened.

Hey folks:
Any clue what to do if there is no one home when the passport courier arrives. My wife’s passport has been resubmitted to IRCC after once sent back due to incorrect photo size. We are expecting it soon but as we lost someone in the family they all had to travel to our native place….they will be back once the rituals are done
Any suggestions??
Do they leave the courier at the door or they need signature??
Plz get back somebody.

I’m sorry for your loss.
When my passport was to be delivered (pre-COVID), I had given my office address for delivery. I wasn’t in office when the delivery guy came so I asked my colleague to collect it on my behalf. The courier guy called me to confirm who I am asking to collect on my behalf. He asked asked my colleague to show a government-issued ID card, clicked a picture of it for a record of who it was delivered to, and then handed it over to her.
He did point out that they have been instructed to hand the passport over only to the recipient.
If in case this doesn’t work out for you, you could ask the delivery person to keep it at the nearest hub and and if you could later go and collect it yourself.
