Hello,
I have a Masters degree from an Ontario university, and there are two questions in the education details section that confuse me if they're referring to Quebec only, or any province: should I select yes/no for the below question?
Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
-from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec) <<< notice Quebec is in bracket, so what does it mean?? does the question imply only CEGEP in Quebec, or even college/school/university in Quebec?
-from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
-a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
-a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)
Another confusing question that I don't understand: not only is the grammar wrong but it makes no sense...
Was more than half the study program English or French as a second language courses?
I believe the (in Quebec) was referring to CEGEP only.
As for second question, I guess a better rephrase is "are half of your courses language courses (either English or French) ?"
That's my understanding at least. Second question is indeed confusing.
Thanks.. You're right on the first one I guess but I'm really lost regarding the second question too.. the answer is obviously "NO" if it's asking if half of my courses were language courses (as per your interpretation)... but if it's asking if half of the courses were in English or French language, and I answer "NO", I'll be doomed
Experts, pls suggest..
they are asking if he had language courses as second language

What does that mean?

They want to know if your program is ESL(English as a second language) or FSL ( French as a second language). The answer is obviously a "No" on your case (Master degree graduate).
Have a good weekend. I hope you get PR soon.
