Hi,
I have a valid study permit till march 2025 and I graduated in december 2024.
I came to India in July 2024 and applied for TRV based on my study permit which is still in process, way past the processing time.
How can I apply for pgwp when I am still in India ?
Should I put my country where applying as India ?

So you graduated December 2024 but went to India in July 2024 so you studied online for your last semester?

If applying from India, that is where you are applying from.

Yes. But the application asks for current country of residence (to select tourist, student, worker, citizen). And another column that asks, country where applying (same as country or residence or no)

You can say residence is student and applying from India. You are an outland applicant. Processing is around 18 weeks. Do you have a TRV yet to return?

No, I do not have a TRV. I applied for it as soon as I landed in india in July but the application is still in process. My SP expires on March 2025, but unfortunately the trv application is still in process in India. Therefore I wish to apply for PGWP from India since, i can not travel to canada.
So I say my residence is canada on stidycpermit and country of application as india ?

When did you graduate because any online studies outside Canada don’t count towards PGWP.

So you can say residence is Canada but applying from India.

Damn . I was studying from set 2022. And my last subject was online from sept 2024 to December 2024. Am I eligible for PGWP?

2. Can I apply pgwp from within canada by giving my address as canada and then apply for trv again ?

You cannot apply as inside because you are not in Canada. What do you mean studying from set 2022? Did you study online from outside Canada? If so, when. Where you full time every semester?

The following time won’t count toward the length of a PGWP:

  • time spent studying outside of Canada after December 31, 2023

I meant my study was offline from sept 2022, but I choose my last course (fall 2024)to be online through my university website.

Please suggest the best course of action

a) were you full time every semester and b) last semester doesn’t count towards PGWP if you were online and outside Canada. Do you have IELTS to apply for PGWP? If so are scores good enough? Assume this is a university program.

In 2022 I took ielts and it was 8 bands.. I'm hoping to get 7 to 8 bands again.
Yes I was full time every semester., yes it was university masters degree.
But how will the ircc know that it was online course

So you cannot apply for PGWP until you have IELTS. IRCC knows that you left the country in July and graduated in December. So they will know it wasn’t in person.

Yes, I am going to take the IELTS general training in a week. My documents like transcripts and completion letter are in progress..
For how much duration, will I be given the pgpw if my last course is not counted. 1 year or 18 months

I have one more question , can I apply for trv again, on the ground that my study permit is valid till March 2025 and I have to attended graduation, and take my stuffs and money(which is in canadian bank )

If you apply for PGWP outland then TRV should be attached. So no reason to do so. You would withdraw first application and reapply but that makes no sense if applying for PGWP from India.
