I am wondering what would happen if I travel right now and if it's possible to post my passport directly from india to the visa office after it gets approved? does this work or should I cancel my TRV or is there any other option that you might know of? I don't think you have any option here. Probably you can talk to IRCC directly but you cannot send passport directly from India. In India you need to send through VFS but they wont accept passport request until you have official letter from IRCC with India address. Even my spouse wants to travel but due to emergency but luckily she got passport request last week. She applied TRV from Canada on Nov 2nd and we are waiting for passport.

People are still waiting from Sept 15th as per this forum. I have applied on Sep 21st for myself and I got approval notice on Nov 27th, so its totally random.So we cannot say processing time.
 
some of my friends get approval within 2-3 weeks , but what I seen after nov 10th no one get approval or may be no one is responding here

Passport request: Nov 27th
Passport submitted: Nov 27th
Passport returned from IRCC: Dec 7th
Passport delivered to me December 9th

Send it to first one if it is Xpress post. If it is normal courier send it to second address.
