Not necessarily .. but you won't be able to return until you have a valid TRV

Hey, I applied in early feb but no update yet, called IRCC and the agent said the file is processing in Ottawa and he doesn’t see any notes other than submission confirmation. He told me as it has passed the processing time, he will add a note to the officer who is processing it. I don’t know what that is but is anyone else aware that whether it will help my application or not?

Hi, I got PPR on September 15, 2021. Sent the passport same day, GCKey showed up counterfoil printed September 24, 2021. But didn't get back yet or no tracking information available. I lives in Vancouver. Any idea???? Thanks.

I sent my passport last week after getting PPR, now it shows the application is Approved. Any idea how long does it take for the counterfoil to be printed and receive passport back?

My timeline for TRV.

Applied: April 12th,
Passport request: October 12th.

Probably in 2 weeks, I will get my passport back with my Visa.

In total, it will take 6.5 months to get my TRV from within Canada.
