has anyone in this forum applied for an extension to a temporary resident visa with an outland PR Application in process? I'm wondering whether to apply inland or outland for my spouse and the only drawback right now with the outland application is that the temporary resident visa may not get extended since the PR application is outland and hence she may have to return back to her home country until she gets her PR. We would like to stay together so if there are chances that the TRV may not get extended, I would opt to do it inland so we can stay together even though it takes longer to process inland.

My 6 month TRV expired in late December and I applied for an extension about a month in advance. A few weeks ago I finally got a 10 month extension starting late January.
Thanks Swede. quick question though - in the extension form, what did you give as the reason of extension? I'm planning to give reason as married to Canadian PR and outland PR application in process - would like to stay with spouse in Canada?. Also, have you travelled to London and got back to Canada on the same TRV prior to the extension?
I applied outland and applied for a TRV extension to stay in Canada with my partner during the process. I gave the reason as pretty much what you were planning to say and included a copy of the PR fee receipt. I ended up with my PR visa (in less than 3 months) before any decision was made on my TRV.
Hello Everyone ... I have few queries reg TRV application.
Apart from Employment proof,i heared that we can show assets in the applicant name while applying for TRV.I don't have any assets in my name but in my father's name.He is no more and i am taking care of my family and assets here.
I cannot use my employment prrof as i am planning to quit my job.
Now my question is do i need to transfer those assets on my name for applying TRV or can i get a signature from Notary Public that i do have share in my father's property and i am the one who is taking care of my family and property???
In case if i am showing my property as proof of return for applying TRV,please let me know what are details i need to submit there apart from the following one.
-> the letter proof from notary stating that i am the one who is taking care of my family and property
-> property documents
-> my dad's death certificate
-> my birth certificate
