Hello,

We have been waiting for over 7 months now with our Outland PR stuck in New Delhi. My wife resides in the U.S. but is an Indian citizen. Both our jobs don't allow remote option or else this wait would have been much easier.

1. She has a TRV valid until July 2022. Can she move to Canada and wait out the process?
2. What happens if the Outland PR isn't approved in 6 months? Will she have to leave Canada and fly back in or can she apply for an extension of stay even though she is outland?
3. Will the application move from NDVO back to a local VO in Ottawa or elsewhere as she moved to Canada?
3. Is inland faster right now? How quickly are people getting OWP? Is it advisable to cancel the outland PR and switch to inland once in Canada?

Any advice is helpful :) Thank you

Hello,

1. She cannot move to Canada. She can however visit Canada temporarily. If she comes to Canada on the TRV, she should make sure she doesn't bring all of her possessions with her. She should bring a couple of suitcases and then bring everything else once PR is approved.
2. She would apply to extend her status from within Canada.
3. The application will remain with NDVO.
4. Inland isn't fast right now. Given you're already 7 months into the outland process, probably makes more sense to stick with that.

All the above. Update address once here. No OWP will be available to her but at least when it's your turn she'd get the request in Canada.
