Hi.. My Husband and I have just got out PR approved and plan to land in Canada this year and come back home to have our baby early next year. We plan to permanently move to Canada end of 2024.
As my husband and I will both be moving together, it would be difficult to sponsor the baby under dependent visa as neither of us would have lived in Canada.
However, we were told that we can we take our baby to Canada on TRV and then apply for dependent visa. Does this sound like a practical solution?
Also, while on TRV, assume that the baby will not be eligible for any healthcare benefits?
Please let me know your thoughts.
thank you.
My wife is PR and she applied for TRV for her daughter and TRV was approved.
Her daughter came with my wife to Canada and we applied for her daughter’s PR inside Canada.
As for health care, every province is different. In BC, my wife daughter qualify for health care if she applied for permanent residence and have is permanently living in BC.

Thank you for getting back to me. this is great news..
Just wondering if she had to prove to immigration / Visa Officer that her daughter will only stay in Canada for the duration of the TRV upon entry in to Canada? e.g. have a valid return ticket etc.
