Hi, my PR card expired and I have since applied for the renewal card. Problem is I am travelling to Portugal in 3 weeks and worries I will not get my PR card in time. Does anyone have any experience with boarding the plane back to Canada with an expired card? I know I can apply for a travel document once I land in Portugal, but am wondering i
 
Highly doubtful you will be able to board a plane back withou a valid PR card or a PRTD. Chances are pretty much zero.

You need to obtain a PRTD to board the plane back to Canada. Airline will deny boarding without a PRTD or valid PR card.
