translation of birth certificate

We have a certified copy of a birth certificate that we want to get translated in Canada to english. However the photo copy was made in the original country stamped/certified (not in english).

Does anyone know if this is acceptable to immigration if we use this as a "certified copy" and translate it in Canada?

Also we had other important documents photocopy certified then translated in the home country. I read we must get an affidavit to swear accuracy of these documents. Is that one affidavit to cover all the translated documents or must it be one affidavit each document?
