You need transit visa if you travel through US.

No need of transit visa if you travel through middle east (Gulf)

No need of transit visa if you travel through European countries (Normally upto 8 hrs no transit visa is required. If you stay longer you need transit visa)

You will require a transit visa only if you plan to get out of the airport.
If your transit is more than eight hours then you are entitled to get a hotel and therefore need a visa.
