No. The processing of your card does not depend on linking it to your CIC account. It is in fact this step is not even needed. Your card will get processed anyways. Linking the card just helps you to track the progress if you want to. If you click on "check full application status", it will show submitted date as your PR approval Date.
I also sent my photo to the office around June 30th, and they received it on July 2nd according to Canada Post tracking system. But I linked my PR card application to CIC on August 13th.
But in my case, when I click "Check Full Application Status" from CIC, it only shows me my submission date as June 17th which is my CoPR date.
Is this right? Shouldn't it be July 2nd, not June 17th?

cOPR July 4th , photos sent July 6th and received in Montreal - July 8th. No update yet , wait time was 90 days when I sent photos n now it’s over 120 days. Anyone who sent photos to Montreal office? Also my SIN # is on hold because sin office is unable to verify my COPR because in the status on Ivr n on the website it still stuck on background check . No updates on PR application on my CIC account. Your replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
