Tourist Visa Query - Spouse

Hello Peeps,

I have a query about Tourist Visa. I am a PR holder for one and half years now but currently live in India. I have lived in Canada for one year though. I am getting married on 13th January 2020 (it's a court marriage) for which I have taken a date. Now I want to know if I can apply for Tourist Visa for my to-be spouse (from 13th January onwards) as I do not want to waste time since I am planning to move to Canada on 1st February or do I have to wait till 13th January (for getting the marriage certificate).

Any guidance in the above will be highly appreciated.

If you are married, your spouse is most likely going to be refused for a tourist visa.

A court marriage in India is very rare, and will cause concerns to the visa officer that the marriage is only for immigration.

So here is my case. I am doing court marriage as her parents have not agreed to the proposal whereas my parents have .

Me and my to-be spouse have mutually decided to not marry as per the traditions. So my question is how can VO be convinced that my marriage is not for immigration purpose?

Is there a way that VO can be convinced that our marriage is solely not for immigration as we have mutually decided to not marry as per the traditional way.

Your spouse should really try to apply for a TRV before you get married. After marriage it will be even more difficult. She/he will need to show strong ties to India, enough savings and hopefully some other international travel to countries seminar to Canada. Have you dated for a long time and have proof of marriage and being together?
