On ECas when did tokyo embassy start processing your application ? Mine started on 9th April but havent heard anything from them yet.

In process was March 17th.

My CSQ(Quebec part) came on March 31th, so it's about two months to since the "In process" and 5 weeks to receive passport request.

E-cas done not change even if I sent and they received my passport. My frined was the same

I just wait fo a while again, it should not be soooo long,I HOPE!

I just saw my decision made on e-cas.


We started processing Usagi's application on March 17, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on Usagi's application. The office will contact Usagi concerning this decision.

I had sent a email to Tokyo Embassy to check 1) Status 2) Passport submittion. They replied saying
1) Currently my application is under assesment.
2) I can submit and pickup passport in person, as and when they make a passport request

You can submit and pick up in person,that's good! You can cut a lot of time!

Tokyo office is really fast.I did not expect my decision made that fast.

I hope I will receive my passport soon^^

For me submitting and picking up passport is on issue at all, as i work 15 mins away for the embassy. Can do that on my way to work, will surely same me 5-10 days atleast. Just waiting for them to send me passport request.

BTW, when did you send your medical and to where ? I have sent mine to manila in April

I had my medical exam in early December in 2009. And it was in Sendai,Miyagi,JAPAN.
I brought all the papers Canada with me.

I made a reservation and had a exam there, took about 2 hours. They sent it to Manila ^^

My Medical was delivered to Manila (As per Tracking details), hope they have everything to process my application soon.

My wife is being processed by the Hong Kong visa office. ECAS says "processing started on December xx ..." but when I emailed them in March they told me that her file was awaiting processing (i.e. had not been started yet), so "in process" can mean waiting in some file cabinet.

Not trying to put a damper on some applicants; just trying to counsel patience.

Luckly for me the "In Progress" is exactly what they are doing as Tokyo embassy confirmed that my app is under assessment

I received my passport with visa.

Tokyo gets really fast^^

They sent me back photos and supporting documents,too

Congrats on a successful PR Process, really happy for you . So when are you planning on your landing process ?

For my case i am still waiting to hear from the embassy. Your experience gives me lot of hope and expecting to hear from them soon.
