Tips for a successful BOWP application

Hi Everyone, please see my below case history and advise if I am eligible for BOWP? My current OWP is scheduled to be expire on 30 March, 2014 OR will I get AOR again as I sent updated docx to CPP-O due to change in my family composition due to marriage?

OPNP Certificate Received.......: 01/17/2013.
My PGWP was scheduled to be expired on 19 February, 2012.
WP Extension at POE on basis of letter from PNP Officer............: 01/19/2013.

New OWP Issued till.....03/30/2014

Visa Office....................: CPP-O.
App. Filed to CIO-Sydney.......: 03/03/2013.
App. Received to CIO-Sydney....: 03/11/2013.
Doc's Request......: NO.
AOR Received.......: 04/23/2013.
Med's Request......: 05/06/2013.
Med's Done.........: 05/16/2013.
Started Processing.: 07/16/2013.
RPRF Request.......: 08/08/2013.
RPRF Paid..........: 08/08/2013.
Got Married at Back-home............: 08/11/2013.

if you get your BOWP is it nessecery to keep working with the same employer ? or you can work wherever you want like PR?

BOWP is open, you can work for anyone - with the usual restrictions like healthcare, children etc (you can have these removed though)

you mean that i should pay my own carecard etc? and please confirm when u say anyone u mean ANYONE? with no restrictions right ? sorry that i insist but its importand for me!

The BOWP is an open workpermit and NOT restricted and bound to a specific employer. Exeptions are, positions
in health care, primary and secondary teaching, etc.
You will need to get meds done if you intend to work in one of the following positions:

Jobs that bring you into close contact with people, such as:
workers in the health sciences field
clinical laboratory workers
patient attendants in nursing and geriatric homes
medical students admitted to Canada to attend university
medical electives and physicians on short-term locums
teachers of primary or secondary schools, or other teachers of small children
domestics
workers who give in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled
day nursery employees and
other similar jobs

I don't know what a care card is

A BOWP has restrictions on jobs in healthcare, childcare. Farming and a couple of others. Other than that, you can work for any employer

Carecard is part of the public health care system in BC, the MSP ( Medical Services Plan ).

Thank you Toby! i need to ask 1 more thing.. my CWP expires in the begging of april and if everything goes well ill have my BOWP till the end of Feb .. so when i ll have my BOWP can i stop working/cancel my current CWP and start working for another employer ? cause i already have an offer for job.. (thanks in advance!)

You don't have to cancel your current WP. As soon as CIC issues your BOWP your current WP becomes
invalid and you can start working for a new employer.

Correct. The new permit will invalidate the previous one.
