HI All
I am uploading the PCC and RPRF receipt today on the online portal. Can you let me know how PCC from 2 countries was uploaded. Do i zip them and upload? or do I have to scan them as a single pdf and then upload them as a single document?
I scaned 2 PCC as 1 PDF file and show the PCC country detail in "file name". Don't know if it works well yet. still waitting for final decision

you and all of us have to buy insurance for 3 mon
Not all of us! It's probably an Ontario thing. Alberta Health care coverage starts on the date someone arrives here

- If you move to Alberta from outside of Canada your coverage begins on your date of arrival in Alberta, once all registration validation requirements are met."

Got a request for passports to issue visas to my parents! Good luck to everyone on the Forum who are still waiting. It's been a very long journey for us. 4 years in total. Finally.
Anyone has parents who are telecom (my dad) or civil engineer (my mom)? If so, have you explored engineering licensing and work options in Ontario? Is there a separate thread on work-related topics for immigrating parents who are planning to work in Canada?
Hi everyone...just a random question..hoping someone can help?
Due to the nature of my father's job..he has done quite a bit of traveling internationally and lived in various countries for a few years too...
Could CIC ask for PCC from all countries since his age of 18?
Has anyone's parent's been in the same boat as this?
Hoping someone can share their experiences.
Thanks.

How difficult that would be for you? How many countries we are talking about? I had issues getting FBI clearance as they were asking for my 65 yrs old mother who never lived in the USA for 6 months at a time, but CIC looks at cumulative 6 months.
Only if it's
extremely hard, I would approach local embassies and/or get screenshot from their embassy/police website that they don't provide such service for whatever reason (due to not having valid status in that country anymore or they don't service foreigners).
CIC has option for such cases but personally I would use this as last resort (right before giving up)

Thank you so much for your detailed response. Much helpful.
My only worry is that their stay in those countries was during the 70s and 80s and 90s so records may have long been lost.
Would be really hard to get the Pcc today if it ever comes to that.
We are in the dark and just dont know what additional info they may ask..

Their standard letter says:
"Updated Police Certificates from
all of the countries you have resided in for 6 months or more since you turned the age of 18 years old."
I was hoping they would ask for only last 10 years but that was not the case.

Thanks for your response. One last question from me if thats okay?
Did they ask you for updated PCCs ( since age 18) after the original Pcc request?
Thank you.

Nope, they used the term 'updated' in initial email to make sure it was generated recently as there is validity period for PCCs.

Does anyone know what is the validity of PR visa? By which landing must be completed? Is it 1 year from medicals done or certain months from visa issuance?

It is 1 year from medicals or expiry date of passport, which cannot be less than 6 months from date of issuance. Whichever of those 2 comes first.
Hi guys,
I applied in 2016 but due to my dad's medical it was significantly delayed. Then it was transferred to Hong Kong in March this year. The day before yesterday we received an email of Invitation to Pre-Arrival services. I was just wondering if any of your parents have received this, because this sounds new. Also if they have received this, how long was it before the DM and PPR, especially those from the HKVO? Much appreciated.
