timing of FBI certificate and the other certificates

Has anyone had a problem with the timing of FBI and the other police certificates?

I am afraid that I will need a new police certificate from Japan (I was there for 7 months when I was 18-19 )..a good thing is that Japan did send the certificate in 20 days from applying! A bad thing is that I will have to travel all the way to the consulate to apply and to receive (they won't mail back the certifcate to my address uggghhh).

I am going back to get more fingerprinting done for FBI and state too.. Its such a pain!!

I know I probably won't need the state certificate but I am sending it in with FBI anyway so I won't have to run around again for it in later time.

I definitely did after being rejected twice by the FBI! My state certs came in about 2 weeks, and well I've been waiting a grand total of 7-8 months for my FBI certificate. Did the medical in January. I've re-filed for the state clearances about 3 times now. I guess there's no way to guarantee any of it but the medical, really, since they give you a year on it.

Good luck michaelab... hopefully this part will be over for us soon.

yikes today I went to Japanese Embassy to get another round of fingerprinting done for Police certificate and they told me I cannot get another one since I already have one!! I explained to her that by the time FBI certificate comes the Japanese one might expire but they said that is not their fault therefore I need a letter from CIC telling that I have to have another police certificate from Japan(!!!). So that means I need to file PR w/ non expired FBI certificate and expired Japanese certificate..and wait for them write me in a letter stating that I need to have another Japanese police certificate! grr This is messed up I even asked the embassy that if I show them the website where they say 3 month or less on certificate, they said no it has to be in a letter from the canadian government! grrr x 10000

Anyway I just pray that FBI will sent me the certificate before Japanese one expires in July! If they reject my fingerprints then I am really screwed.
