I applied for LMO to renew my work permit from PGWP in April 13th 2011. and next week i got reply that i used old application form, so i filed to the latest application form and then they said again need more comapny documents. we prepared and faxed them on 26th April. so how long does it take to get response form LMO? my PGWP will expire in July 9th kind of tight. also i kind give up using online application to extend my work permit.
too many papers. anyways, help me please.
You should be OK, as long as you get the LMO and apply for a new work permit before the old one expires, you're OK. (You'll be on "implied status" after the old one expires, if you haven't received the new one yet). Try to do it online, tho...
Thanks Jes. hopefully i can get LMO sometime in next week. meantime, i am trying to figure out online application.
my documents are just about 18 pages(passport, visa, contract marriage cert..etc) and right now 1800 KB. hopefully i can squeeze one more file(LMO). Thanks again Jes.

LMO's are taking about 5 to 6 weeks generally. Adobe has a "reduce size" function for PDF docs. I use it all the time. Try that if your doc is too large.
I am also on PGWP and my employer filed for my LMO the exact date as yours April13,2011. My employer has gone for the LMO first time.
I got my LMO in 3 weeks.. My employer forgot to attach the copy of my current work permit. They called in for the copy. Employer just faxed it. I took around 3 weeks. I got it in the first week of May.
good for you Ashi87.
did you applied for WP yet? i did last Monday. my documents were over 2M. but i used reduced size PDF. i kinda got half size.
i am hoping CPC will email me wihtout any problems. i asked 2 years work permit, but i don't know. and my friend said that
if you extend your work permit 3 times, you are automatically accepted to be a permanent resident. this is from head of CPC.
anyway, let me know if you get something new. also thanks for Jes.

My current work permit expires in Sept this year and I am looking into applying for LMO. I've asked my HR to apply for LMO for me but having read these "threads" regarding LMO, it seems that I could have just done it myself instead (just get a cover letter from my manager). Please let me know if that's possible.
Also is this the form that we/my company needs to use for file an LMO for me ?

I'd really appreciate if anyone could please reiterate the procedure to apply for an LMO here. I know it has been done a lot of times on this forum, but its hard to dig through so many threads and find what we really need.
Yes, that's the form, but only the employer can apply for an LMO. The reality is that many employers know nothing about the process and we have to guide them through it, since their mistakes can cost us our jobs and our residency.
