Time waiting through online application is faster than by mail?

Hi ive applied online for my temporary workers permit. The time for processing is 3 months by mail I believe (according to cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/workers.asp). Will online be faster or the same than three months?

Online definitely faster than Mailing!

A week or two max. It merely saves you the time taken by embassy personnel scanning and creating your file. Also you don't get to submit original docs (only passport and that even only when you receive passport request - provided you need a trv). Application is still processed primarily at the same embassy. So don't expect any drastic improvements in time - otherwise no body would apply on paper.

but if you look at times IN canada the paper vs online are 30 to 40 days faster! so i hoped that's the case for applications submitted outside of canada too.

The three months is that accurate? is that an average? because i need it to be here in 2 months, i didnt need an lmo (this is what the embassy told me after reading my invitation letter).
I don't need a TRV

Those from inside Canada don't really apply. Certainly it doesn't make a 30-40 day difference for an application submitted outside of Canada - even that is just a case with most of the applicants and you can never tell for sure how long a specific case would take.

The time they quote is basically the average time taken for 80% of the applications that they processed in the last quarter / year depending upon when they update.

If you don't need a TRV and LMO, then probably you are eligible to apply for work permit at the port of entry.

i've read something about that but did not want to take any chances. And now ive already paid for one that's being processed. I just hope it's here in 2 months instead of 3 (or can they do it with the papers I've already sent to the embassy (ONLINE!!!) at the canadian border if I give my application number?)
