I have a question regarding the requested photos that we need to upload via the portal. My dependents have a soft copy of the photos we included in their pr application almost 16 months ago. Can we use them or should we take new ones? Please reply if you have a clear answer.

Very simple. You should inform them n eyoh get married, fill the forms and send other documents. The marriage certificate an be sent separately as soon as you receive it.

i informed ircc few days after i got married and still haven't heard back.. how long does it usually take to get a reply from ircc ?

No reply and include the requested information (Name, UCI, email address, date and location of entry to canada..etc). Check the latter that was attached, they should have listed the the requested information.

Even they aren't here, I thought this applicable only to the dependents abroad not overseas.

They asked if they were here or abroad, that is why they asked you to pick A or B. A means they create portals for you and your dependents under one email and b means everyone should receive a portal under a separate email. No need to worry at all. They know what they are doing.

Photos are only valid for 6 months - I believe you should take new one

Just one email under Principal applicant - I did mine last week and got user and password next day uploaded photos yesteday.
