My friend got his pr through marriage his wife sponsor him . he got his pr card before his hearing and he withdrew his asylum case he got his passport back when he will be eligible for his citizenship ? he got his pr card 11 Jan 2021 I know one year they count before pr but in his case because he withdrew his case before hearing that one year will be count towards his citizenship or not ? thanks in advance

He can only start counting from the day he landed and became a PR.

No, he was out of status during that time and wasn't recognized as a protected person. So this time cannot be counted.

Thanks sir really appreciated he got his pr Jan 2021 so when he can able to apply his citizenship.

Jan 2024 if he doesn't leave Canada.
