My wife and I will send out an application for her by the end of the week. I (the sponsor am a Canadian citizen) and my wife the (principal applicant is Swedish) and reside in Sweden. We will fly with our 2 children that are both dual citizens (Canadian and Swedish - both Passports). Now, we have booked and paid for flights for the 4 of us for April 3 2017 (my job starts April 10) and my mom is actually flying in mid March to Sweden to help us with the return flight to Canada. I am 99.9% sure that I will be Sponsored Approved by April 3, but obviously in the back of my mind worry. Question is: if I have not been informed as being Sponsord Approved by April 3 will this affect our arrival in Toronto?
You can tell the custom officer about your wife PR application, they are able to check through their system. Evrn if your wife did not get her PR by the time you guys fly, you just need to print out all the relevant sponsorship docs, marriage certificate and present to the officer that your family are moving back. The custom officer will grant min. 6-12 mths visa.
Sorry I'm new to the terminology of these processes. What stage is SA? Is it just confirmation you CAN sponsor? Then you wait while they process the application?
Yes SA is confirmation you can sponsor then they process the PR Application. So I was asking if it is ok we leave Sweden and land in Canada if I have not yet been Sponsor Approved by way of Outland. I hope this is not the case and am Sponsor Approved by time of flights, but was just inquiring for this scenario.
Ah. I've been looking at the difference between inland and outland a lot myself and from what I've seen your partner is allowed to come and go to Canada as a visitor without it affecting the process (being from a visa exempt country and as long as they don't visit Sweden too many times in a short period)
Ok that makes sense. Also we have will be able to show a return flight for the 4 of us as we booked return for Sept 10. Obviously not to be used, but was cheaper then 4 one way tickets.
Just if I wasn't SA I didn't want customs thinking we were trying to pull a fast one (which isn't the case at all). I will start work with my father April 10.
