I'm a British citizen, I have a long term Canadian partner. We have lived together for 3 years in the UK and been together for 4 1/2 years. So I assumed I could apply as a common law spouse.
In entering these details, the come to Canada wizard states that I am ineligible to enter using the family sponsorship programme, I am unsure as to why this is the case?
Additionally, I have a BEng in engineering and MSc in engineering, so would it be better to apply for express entry? However in such a case I would be required to have a job offer and decent financials right? (which I don't cureently have).
Thanks for any help, hope you are all seeing success in this process!
I used this dumb wizard when seeing if my partner could apply for a visa and it also told me that he wasn't eligible. It was really through reading these forums that I discovered it's not true!
I had an email today informing me my family member's application will be processed in Mississauga. Does this mean no AOR2? We live in the UK so I assumed it would transfer to LVO. Am I correct in thinking it *might* be processed quicker in Mississauga than in London?

Yep, it probably will be. A few Mississauga applicants recently have received their decision within 3 months of the application being received. Others like myself still waiting (Feb applicant). Not sure I'd take 3 months as an established trend yet, but it could go very fast. There's a thread here for Mississauga applicants.

Safe to say there was a hint of jealousy alongside the congratulations for the 3 month applicants! But yeah, you're in the lucky bunch who will likely be quicker than LVO.
Can someone please add me to the spreadsheet also share the link, thanks

Yep, that is what it means. This is very good news for you as the others have said, Mississauga is a fair bit quicker than London. They 'seem' to retain the 'easy' ones in Mississauga and process them a lot quicker! Spreadsheet updated.

Hi,
I received my GCMS notes and found out that I am also transferred to London Visa Office. My AOR is 23rd April, and the file was transferred on 17th May. Processing hasn't moved forward since being transferred there 2.5 months ago.
When should I expect some action on part of London Visa Office?
P.S. I realized after posting a reply that this thread is in family class sponsorship whereas I am FSW.
