Does it often take a long time for other things to move after getting Pre Arrival Services? I have still not seen any changes aside from getting that letter. I know that the long weekend would be slowing things down a bit but I want to get an idea of how long I might be waiting for.
Typically Canadian embassies take Canadian holidays off and I don't see why it would be any different for visa offices. So yes, it would slow things down.
just saw this thread and wanted to introduce myself.
I am a Canadian wife to a British husband (English). We have 1 child together who was born in the UK where we live currently.
I have finished our forms and am waiting to send them off. I am confused as to where to submit the application to as different avenues are saying different places. We live in Brighton so our High Commission is London.
where did everyone submit their applications for their spousal and Canadian citizenship to for their children?

Follow the instructions here and send it to where the checklist (IMM5533) tells you to (currently Sydney, Nova Scotia, but basically download the checklist again on the day you finalise your application and do what it says - don't trust anywhere else!).

London folks... Just logged into mycic (for the 156th time this week!) and see under status that it said “application/profile updated” so i click on it and its changed to “we are processing your background check”
Hi I am new to this group. I am sponsoring my wife, we both have Indian passport. We applied in August 2017 and that time my wife was working in UAE, last December she quit the job and returned to India permanently, we updated new address and all. Last week I got an email from LVO stated that they received our file and one officer will take care of it soon. Also, they asked me(sponsor) proof of Canadian residency too. What will be going to happen on our file? how long I need to wait to get approval. I already apply for notes this week. I was wondering that why they sent my file after 11 months to LVO, I haven't received ARO2 or my GCkey account doesn't show BGC STARTED. Thanks
Sorry for asking the same question twice but I didn't get a reply last time. How long do LVO applicants often have to wait after getting the pre-arrival letter?

after pre-arrival letter, usually BGC starts. it depends on how long BGC takes. for some people its done in 1 day for some they are waiting 2-3 months.

Theres really no set order and one person can dffer wildly to another. My bgc started first, then prearrival then decision made. But my ecas had said decision made before pre-arrival.
Really wish they would streamline it so people knew what was “normal” and what wasnt.
