2-3 weeks back when I emailed Buffalo asking them about my application, they said they are creating files rcvd by 17th jan. but will be mailing me AOR once they have created my file, so I guess we will be receiving the AOR in traditional way, its just good to know on e-cas that they have rcvd our file.

My file was transfered to Buffalo on Jan 25. I still don't have the AOR, or the e-cas update!
So I wonder what's going on? I am thinking of sending a case specific inquiry now....

I just wanted to mention this. One of our December applicants just told us that his application has been forwarded to the New York office. That should mean that they're trying to get through the backlog by sending the applications to satelite offices. I would guess we may see more applications headed to the other offices, at least for a little bit.

Ahh my husband is landing as we speak! I am so anxious/excited. I don't think I will feel any relief until I see him come through the door with a Visa in his hand!

Thank you so much everyone! He just called to tell me that he landed without any issues. Now he is on his way home! I can't wait to see him and finally celebrating after 3 years of marriage and 10 months of waiting!

Good luck to everyone who is going through the process. I assure you, it is well worth every moment of waiting!

Yay Jessibee!! I called Canadapost today, my passport will be here tomorrow :) I will be landing Monday on my way home from visiting my family. My e-cas still has not changed...haha.

Hi, the Buffalo Visa office emailed me back and they are working on January 24th letters of acknowledgement. They should send you something soon. Unfortunately, I will be waiting a couple of months or so.

Ohh...thank you for the post !

I myself emailed Buffalo office today....haven't replied yet !
When did you email them??

Woohoo! Enjoy!

Our E-Cas hasn't changed either :P But we don't mind!

He just got back with a shiny new Visa in his passport (It really is shiny) and a bottle of bourbon from the duty free. He IS from Kentucky, after all! When he gets back from returning the rental car we will celebrate.

Love-Buf-Wings,

My file was transferred on March 24, and the CIC website said they received it on April 7, so about 2 weeks. According to member Quakingaspen this can be considered the AOR (your husbands file # should arrive by either mail or e-mail). Hope this helps. BTW, I love Buffalo Wings, Too! :D

Thanks so much! It makes no sense why the Canada-Us immigration process takes so long. Anyway, the Buffalo visa office replied to an email I sent yesterday (that was fast) stating that they are working on January 24th letters of acknowledgment (AOR). At this pace, it will be months (hopefully, not more than two) before we get this letter.

Does anyone know the anticipated time between recieving an AOR and the decision making stage? I know it varies, but an on average estimate would be helpful. My husband wants enrol for an MBA program in September, we are hoping for a decision to be made by August so that he won't need to defer his study plans. Do you think that expecting a decision by August is unrealistic?

Thanks guys!

Sparkle has put together a spreadsheet of the Buffalo timelines that we've been able to gather. You can find it here:
