Actually, you don't have to go back to the states.. You can land at certain offices within Canada.. Google is your friend on this one, why bother with the trip, unless you WANT to go all the way back..

Hi everyone! Been awhile since I have logged on. I took a few months off to spend time with my wife in Canada. I took all the paperwork that I read on here to bring and had no issue at the airport. Well here is my update. On Sept 20th, I was asked for my passport. Since I was in Canada, I had to send my parents my passport and then they sent it off to Buffalo for me. Well this past Saturday, my passport and visa were back at my parents house! Woot Woot!! Now just have to cross back to the States and then back to Canada and officially land in!
I haven't posted in a while and I just wanted to give an update. My husband had an interview today in Cairo and our application ahs been approved !!! Hooooraaaaaay ! I have to pay the permenant residence fee and then we were told within a few weeks his visa will be issued.

Well, that's it!!! We landed tonight. Very cut and dry at POE. My IO was neither stern nor friendly and I didn't get my 'Welcome to Canada' but nonetheless it is DONE!! Was awesome because as we were exiting Customs my nine year old YELLED at the top of his lungs, "We did it Canada!! We're IMMIGRANTS!! The immigration officers that were standing around outside were all smiling and laughing. It was a moment to remember!!! ;D

We're waiting as well. We got AOR from Buffalo on 06-Aug-10 after being told in early June that the file was being transferred. They must have sent it via courier pigeon bc it took 2 months... ???
