Wow that's fast. Buffalo got our documents Oct 18th and we're still waiting

Yeah it was really fast, i was surprised actually. But happy at the same time. We had gotten a letter last week saying could be 3-4 months to revieew new documentation, so I was worried, that it would be a while before they looked at it for the one second that they needed to see it.

So i am happy today. Hopefully you hear soon too

Hello fellow August applicants,

First off, Congratulations to all those who have received their visas! My husband and I, however, are in an entirely different situation. He is Canadian, I am a South Korean citizen, permanent resident of the states. We sent in our COMPLETE application package on August 5, 2010 and received a letter late November waiving an interview but stating that we needed to submit my FBI clearance letter and South Korean Police certificate. We were stunned and have been trying to email Buffalo for the past 3 weeks with no response other than the automated computer generated response.

Has this happened to anyone else? We are trying not to panic but the letter gives a 90 day deadline and with the holidays coming up I don't think there is anyway we are going to get the FBI letter within the 90 days. Please help!

Hello everyone!

I am surprised that more people have not landed. I thought that we were all doing very good. My husband and I are being a bit slow ourselves, as he got his Visa in the beginning of November, and I thought he would come in November, but it was put off for a couple of weeks, so I just told him that he might as well stay with his Mom for Christmas, before he leaves. He finally bought his plane ticket yesterday, and will be arriving on January 7th.

Does anyone know approximately how long it takes at the airport to go through the immigration stuff with the border officers? My husband is landing in Toronto, then taking a connecting flight to Edmonton. He has 2 and a half hours in between flights. I hope that is enough time. Any tips as well?

Hi Kimmy

Were you stunned because you have already submitted the two documents requested or because you didn't think you needed them?

If you have submitted - were they less than 3 months old when you submitted? We got a request for documents we'd already submitted and on closer inspection I discovered my passport hadn't been signed (we're assuming that was the problem though, like you, never did receive a response to our emails). We also got a letter please send document x if you have not already done so which we just ignored because we had sent it.

If you haven't submitted them then apply for them immediately. Even if you don't receive the FBI clearance within the 90 days you can submit the Korean Police Clearance along with proof that you have submitted your FBI clearance and are still waiting for it (your dated submission and a print out showing how long it takes etc). It generally says failure to submit the documents within 90 days MAY lead to closing your application but as long as you communicate the situation they should keep the application open and wait for the FBI clearance.

a little late
but here's the update
even though our interview had gone bad.. my hubby got approved just yesterday
dec 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they said they had mailed the passport on dec 20
we will get it in 8-10 days
as soon as he gets the passprt back, he will book his ticket earliest possible.
im feeling really weird
lol ...it's amazing..!
pray for all you guys and hope you get your visas soon. god bless you all

I had a horrible dream last night that we got a beat up letter in the mail (hubby changed his address and is staying with me now so we are worried about his mail making it) from CIC with bad news.

This wait is so painful. I've been a wreck ever since I read the details of a charge he got in 98,

no, we didnt have any complications
the interview was bad so.. i had already given up hope
i thought it was gonna be bad news..but it worked out
he got his passport with visa stamped
it worked out! im happy
