So does anyone know if you can visit Canada with your visa but without landing? Maybe we should just call the Canadian Border directly? Or do they give you information about landing when you get your visa?

I called the border services and they were happy to give me any information I needed. I recommend calling and asking, their number is 1-800-461-9999

Hello,

Well I finally received the AOR letter today (after I received the PPR email)! Funny thing is, the letter is dated October 21st but they postmark is November 2nd!! No wonder I hadn't received it until now.

According to the letter, they were only waiting for my RPRF which I paid online on September 28th so, it appears they had not been notified of my payment until after October 21st; so at least a month between my paying it and their receiving notification of payment.

Nyssa would you like to update my status so that others can see the correct timeline? I think it helps others when trying to determine timeframes.

AOR: October 21
PPR: November 8

Does eCas change from 'In Process' to 'Passport Request'?

I need some proof to take with me to the border when I bring my husband in on Monday. We want to send off the passport from here, so I hope we don't have any problems coming in.

I got my visa in the mail today! From Buffalo (express mail both ways) it only took 5 days (so definitely do that Buffalo outlanders!) I'm so thankful to have this mess over, save the landing process (which should be LOADS of fun - moving in JANUARY!!!!) I'll be sure to post the experience here when I do. Wishing PPR's for everyone and some news this coming week!!

Passport request today!!!!

I was so happy I cried at work (how embarassing).

We already have plane tickets for the 9th of December (they're return tickets) but I guess we're going for good now!

It literally feels like a weight has been lifted. It's been incredibly stressful. When I read the e-mail, I just felt so overwhelmed, especially as we submitted a Common Law application. Fingers crossed for the rest of you - London's Processing time may have doubled "officially" but they are progressing quickly!

passport came in the mail today!!! super short timeline, sent it off October 26 and got it today, 2 weeks total to London! Might even land tomorrow, so exciting!

I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. My husband sent me a random pdf file and that was it!!! I was crying my eyes out a minute ago!! It's finally over and I can have the love of my life back!! This is the happiest day of my life (NOT INCLUDING MY WEDDING!!) <3 <3

I need to figure out if we can do the walk-in same day landing in Detroit like in Buffalo....

Just a quick update... landed last friday. So happy to finally start living my life with the wifey. Still very jetlagged though after travelling halfway across the world.
