WOOO HOOOO!!
We received your application to sponsor XXXXXX on August 6, 2010.
We sent you a letter on September 7, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Congradz Kess...i bet you were checking ecas like every second. Im anxious too but I got till next week to start panicking.
Yay, we're moving again!
Almost half way down the list, but still a quite a way to go. The waiting is KILLER.
Angel B we have a few more weeks to wait

You think we'll hear something by the end of the month?
YEAH

I give it 2 more weeks. It will go fast,
I know last time I went thru this it was 4 weeks

so I'm hoping by the 23rd we will both be approved

Congratulations Kess!!!
Do we have to wait for the letter to actually know if we are approved or not? :

Are you through Mississauga? What number do we call to check? I don't want to call until maybe the 25th if I don't hear anything, I definitely don't want to be a bother yet (I'll save that for Buffalo. Haha!)
Yaaay! :3
Yup mississauga then papers go on world tour to the UK
I think the 1800 number, but don't think you'll need to call

we should hear something within 2 weeks.. I don't like being at the bottom of our chart
But don't worry we'll get there

Woo hoo! I am so excited for everyone... and I'm starting to get little butterflies in my tummy about our application! I hope we hear something next week! fingers crossed!
HolidayLove - This is probably the worst part, hahaha. That's how I felt, anyway, I feel much better now knowing we were approved to sponsor. The rest will just either be delays or them not thinking it's genuine (but really, I'm sure that's fine too, worst case scenerio is an interview.) It seems slow now, but it will get there. I remember when just 2 weeks passed and I was like, "you're kidding me... it's only been 15 days." ???

Agreed, first part is worse, cuz you feel like you haven't even begun yet. I've been going thru this for nearly a year now, I just can't wait til it's over

And we can move on with our lives

and start living normal
Me too! I thought I'd have the application sent out in January, February at latest. I thought I'd be in Canada by now. My husband and I have been seperated for over a year now, rather unexpectedly at the US/CAN border. It's been everything but easy. The best part is, even though it feels like you haven't started, you have. It's GONE! ;D
Someday this will be a forgotten thread, all of us with PR cards... and that's just awesome.

Nyssa, what kinds of things are happening to you at the Canada/US border? My husband and I mostly drive but I also flew in the summer to see him in the States. So far (knock on wood) we haven't had too much trouble. My husband did get pulled over once into immigration but once he could show proof of his job he was good to go. We also have both started bringing a copy of our application in case they ask to see it. (which has happened once to him) That way they can see we are trying to do everything legitimately. But I have to say... it sure is stressful. I always get nervous as I get the border, even though I keep telling myself, you aren't doing anything wrong! lol
Agreed Nyssa,
I actually had a application for my husband sent out in Feb, it was a conjugal partner Application, Anyways, got complicated, so we withdrew since we were engaged during the process. We got married.

and sent out this new application.
Fortunatly, he's from the UK and has been able to be here since Dec, We spent way to much time apart as it was, so it's been nice to have him here, however it's very stressful with only one income, But it's not permanent and will only get better from here

THANK GOD
Just hoping for a speeding processing

for everyone not just myself..
Stillsmilin,
The only thing I took with us when we went on a mini vacation was the sponsorship approval letter(from the first app) we had no problems, immigration was VERY nice, and helpful even. They asked, what he does while he is here since he can't work. and told us after the 6 months expired on his visa to apply for extension if things weren't finalized by that time

I felt, because we were prepared we had no problems, he even helped us telling us what we could apply for, looking for jobs, etc. Was very pleasent
HolidayLove... that's great that you had a good experience at the border. Mostly they have been kind to both of us as well. I have only had one guy who acted like he didn't quite believe me that I was only staying a week. He kept reminding me that if I stayed for more than 6 months it would be considered an "overstay". I just kept saying, that's no problem I will be home in a week! lol BUT he did let me through! I really feel for the people who are separated and can't even visit or have to wait long periods in between visiting. I am very grateful that I can see my husband at least monthly because we can drive to each other within 8 hours.
