An Update in our application:

Principal Applicant received NZ's Criminal Conviction History request letter through email today. As well as Pre-Arrival Services letter in a separate email.

Our GCKey Background Check also changed from "in progress, we will let you know when we start background check" to "Not Applicable". It will start processing when we submit the conviction history records.

Good to see some progress

Hi Everyone.

As per above post I've received the same email. I can't login to GC key as I got locked out due to wrong password lol.
I assume it will read the same as above. I've sent the request MoJ and they advised it may take to 30 Jan 2018 so heads up fellow members. I've emailed Sydney to ask for the time to be extended.

What i find strange is that I completed a Schedule A which allows CIC to complete a background check on behalf with MoJ and NZ Police. odd but not one to discuss or argue with Immigration Canada.

It's nice to get some progress after a few months radio silence.

we have the same issue. Deadline is way before when PA would get the results back. We have also emailed to ask for an extension.

I agree, it is strange. I thought we were good to go in regards to PCC.

When i got the email in my inbox i thought it was a passport request haha. I was like WTF when they where asking for MoJ background checks. I've emailed them once before to confirm something i missed which has been sorted but it can take up to 2 weeks for a reply.

Update! I've been staying off the forums as reading too much can really mess with your mental state while you're waiting for everything to go through. PA just checked and background has changed to in progress (updated spreadsheet). He can't remember the last time he checked and actually paid attention to that though, so could have been sooner. We've been intermittently sending updated police checks, as his UK one was out of date, and the AUS one was a few weeks out of date too so we've sent it in.

Background Check in progress. Changed this morning, even though I have to get my background check from NZ Police.

I got PPR request on 28th Nov and I sent the required documents on 29th Nov to Consulate of Canada Sydney.

Can anyone please share their experience how long did they take to send Permanent Residency documents? Actually, I am travelling overseas in a week and I am concerned what if they send the documents when I am away.

I've read from a few days to 2 weeks. It varies from person to person.

May I ask what your time line was for your application?

I've got a second email from Sydney allowing an extra few weeks extension on sending background check. In the email I also need to resend a schedule A even though this was uploaded in August when i sent my authority for them to do a background check.

Some where down the line someone or somethings go wrong lol

Looks like they sent the BGC email in bulk as I'm in the same boat.

Got request on 21/11/17 for Ministry of Justice Criminal report. I requested this on the same day but I wasn't advised it could take up to 30 Jan 2018 to receive - fingers crossed I submitted it just in time to be ready before the Christmas period.

I also got asked to complete the Common Law declaration, anyone else in the same boat?

FYI For all applicants requiring NZ Ministry Background Check.

Date request received by the Ministry:
08- Dec-2017

Result:

30 January 2018

Holidays:

• Christmas Day (12/25/2017)
• Boxing Day (12/26/2017)
• Holiday break (12/27/2017)
• Summer Holiday (25 December to 15 January)
• New Year's Day (1/1/2018)
• Day after New Year's Day (1/2/2018)
• Wellington Anniversary (1/22/2018)

This calculates the maximum time limit within which a response must be sent.

In a similar boat here. Got DM in ECAS over two weeks ago but no PPR yet. We are doing a bunch of travel early in the new year and concerned it might cause us problems....
