I took the initiative to email VFS Ghana.
This is for @Nneji and (future) applicants submitting passport to VFS in Ghana.

Note: For those in Nigeria, you may need to confirm payment slip amount online or with applicants who already submitted their passport.

We acknowledge receipt of your message. Upon request from IRCC on passport submission, kindly send the following documents to us via DHL for onward submission to IRCC:

• Passport
• Letter from IRCC
• CVAC Consent Form (see attached)
• Payment slip of GHC165.00 (per person for residents within Accra) or GHC167.00 (per person for residents outside Accra) or (GHC36.00/GHC38.00 respectively per person who gave biometrics at Accra VAC with proof of biometric sticker/receipt inside passport)
• Required size passport pictures – Permanent Resident (50mmX70mm with date, name and address of studio behind one photo)
• Any other documents required – Permanent Resident

Thanks. Have you sent your passport? If not, are you planning to send through Lag or Abj vfs?

I haven’t but I’m not sending through Lagos ooo

From what I read in this thread from previous applicants is if you're based in Ghana you can include prepaid envelope. However, it's not permitted for those in Nigeria.
You can always contact DHL to confirm.

Timeline

application was sent in May 2020 , didn’t even get AOR until November 2020, biometrics was in February, medicals was done on May 6 2021,Pre arrival was on 31 May 2021 and Passport request 22nd July 2021.

things I did that helped or would help

1- contact mp (make sure u do that strategically)
2- make sure any supporting documents you send them are received, my case pregnancy note or report from the doctor didn’t get to IRCC
3- let you spouse in Canada call IRCC (when they do,IRCC picks up ,na we we they Ghana di3 dem no go biz u sef )

Are we to include a return envelop with this?

It states fees include return of your passport, sorry I missed that part. I believe this is applicable for those in Ghana as this email was on behalf of my husband who resides in Accra, Ghana. Those in Nigeria will need to make arrangements with DHL for pick up.
