There's no need for all these back and forth. My heart leaped for joy when I saw 2 unread pages, I thought there was abundance of goodnews only for this but all I see is people praying and hoping thier applications get processed in ample time. But to think VO's just pin point randomly and start processing doesn't make sense in my own opinion.

If the old and new system runs separately is something we ll find out with time. Then again if people will be more specific while giving out info then that will help us better.
Someone said some Jan/Feb applicants have gotten PPR, is it AVO under spousal category cos I for one know a couple that was processed in 4months, same AVO but under PNP so this doesn't count in this context. Then again we cannot deny the fact that some apps are treated with more urgency cos of a peculiar situation e.g. Health. We have seen that happen earlier in this thread. So some factors can help facilitate some apps but that doesn't mean that is the time frame generally.

At the end of it all, this too shall pass someday soon.

Pls I have an important question.

Anyone here that had a course to do a name change for any reason? We submitted our app in my maiden name reason being that we got married in US and couldn't do all that process then but we sure needed to push out the application. Now am in Nigeria and we think we should do it now since my passport is about to expire too so we can change everything once. It saves us time and money I'll get my PR card in my husbands name now rather than having to start doing the process afterwards

Now I know normally " change of name" isn't such a big deal but can't say exactly for this process. I've read CIC site but still want practical ideas. Pls any useful info would be appreciated. Thanks

if your waiting for PR approval after medical has been reviewed and passed. while waiting since turnaround time has become brutal is it wise to submit a temp visa to visit? or is that not allowed while waiting?

You can try for it. You're allowed to apply, it's just you really need to try and convince them the principal applicant won't stay in Canada and will return to their home country. They are difficult visas to get especially when you're in the pr process. Difficult but not impossible.
