Hi All,
I had sent my application to sponsor my child for PR and it was received at Sydney,NS on Jan 23 2019
My son is 7 months old
Is medical necessary for him?
If yes, will medical be done in Canada without health insurance
Medicals is a must even if it's a day old baby. As for the insurance I can't say but alot of persons have spent from their own pockets in doing medicals. I have never seen where insurance covered it. If he's in Canada the medicals should be done in Canada from the list of Parnel physicians provided by ircc

Getting AOR and SA doesn't give way to applying for HC except you are doing that for a child already in Canada with a visitor's visa, then U can apply and get a temporary health care insurance. Other than that you have to wait for your confirmation of permanent residency bfr U can apply for HealthCare insurance.

Yes. I am looking to start OHIP ( Ontario ) coverage for my child who is already in Canada as a visitor. My child's application reached IRCC on 4th Feb so going by trend I should get AOR and SA in next 20 days.
Sorry, it's not clear from your last post if you are suggesting that child is eligible or not eligible for Healthcare coverage after AOR and SA.

he is only eligible of he is either a permanent resident, has a temporary resident permit, a citizen or a refugee . .. other than that U can only apply for a private health care insurance for the child. You have to wait to get his PR approval before he will be eligible to apply.

This is the text from OHIP website on eligibility :
"you have submitted an application for permanent residence in Canada, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada has confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada;"
I am pretty sure that OHIP coverage of my child will start before she gets PR. At this point I am not sure if her waiting period will start from the day she moved to Canada as a visitor OR they day I get SA.

You qualify to apply if you are inside Canada and..
have applied for permanent residence, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has confirmed that:

Has your child's eligibility for the PR been approved?. Its different from SpondSponso Approval. If you are ok with what you have read then go ahead and apply if it's not possible guess they will advice you aswel.
Yes, I will apply as soon as possible. In this moment i'm 38 weeks pregnant and it's painful even to walk outside, specially on this cold. I'm gonna let you know how it went.
